I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, the Senate should not waste time or money worrying about major league sports.

NFL notebook: Senate hearings to study bounties – Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

This is a total waste of our resources. Our deficit continues to grow, yet somehow there is money to call hearings? Shouldn’t our senators spend their (actually our) time on better things? Here are just a few that are more important than NFL bounties:

The deficit
The economy
Education
Unemployment
Welfare
Social Security
Drugs
Terror at home and abroad
Nuclear weapons
The environment

I could go on. In other words, the United States “has 99 problems and the NFL ain’t one.”
