Beer Review: Milk Stout

MMMMM Mmilk Beer

MMMMMM Milk!

By Bodreau Sauvauge

AHHHHH is there anything like a cold glass of milk? Whether it is chocolate, strawberry, white, in your coffee, etc. Milk is a staple that none can do without. Even if you must drink it made from soy, yuck. There is egg-nog, creamer, whipping cream, 1%, 2%, whole. It can come in solid form in cottage cheese, cheese, string cheese, yogurt. Now you can get it in the form of beer…how wondrous.

Milk Stout is a dark beer produced by the Lefthand Brewing Company in Longmont, Colorado. It has won seven international awards from 2006 to 2009 in North America, Europe, and Australia. Milk Stout pours with a good head and goes down smooth. The flavor begins more with a smooth texture and continues with a chocolaty taste. It finishes with a bite and an almost caramel and sweet flavor. The aftertaste is a touch bitter with again the chocolate. I love dark beers but would categorize it as a lighter dark beer.

Left Hand brews 9 standard beers and 5 seasonal. The offerings range from light beer to dark and cover several of your favorite seasons. According to their website they would love to have you come out and and spend time in their tasting room to try all their offerings. If you happen to see the movie Frankenstein Brothers in the theaters in 2010 you will see the Left Hand Brewing Company.

I rate this beer as 3.5 Big Beef and Beer.
